Initial course
You will join KLM Cityhopper uk on a permanent full time contract.
This initial course, lasting more than four weeks, will be given in English. The training may be roughly divided into two parts: service and flight safety. The first part of the training includes modules on customer service and onboard procedures. You will also be briefed on duty rosters and uniform requirements.
The flight safety modules will cover all sorts of procedures, including fire fighting, swimming pool training, and emergency simulations. You will be prepared for emergencies aboard all our aircraft types.
Classroom courses will be alternated with training flights, during which you will be accompanied by a Line Trainer, who will give you on-the-job coaching.
During the training period, you will be expected to study intensively in the evenings and on weekends, preparing for your flight safety and service exams.
The course will be concluded with the official presentation of your wings which means you are fully qualified to work on KLM Cityhopper uk flights.
Training for promotion
After one year there is the possibility that you will be offered a permanent contract (this is subject to satisfactory performance etc). You will then be eligible for promotion to CA1 as vacancies arise. As such, you will be in charge of cabin crew aboard the Fokker 50 and 70.
After two and half years, you will be eligible to apply for the job of Inflight Supervisor. That means you will be in charge of a team of three cabin attendants aboard the Fokker 100.
The training for both CA1 and Inflight Supervisor include classroom courses as well as training flights.
Line Trainer
If you enjoy working with people and have an excellent service record as a cabin attendant at KLM Cityhopper uk, you will be eligible to apply for the post of Line Trainer. This job will see you training cabin attendants on board.
